Good Faith / Bad Faith

When policyholders are required to file claims against their own insurance policies, the insurance company has a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interests of the policyholder. When the insurance company denies a claim unlawfully or needlessly stalls the policyholder, the company can be said to be acting in bad faith and sued on those grounds.
