Joint and Several Liability
In cases in which multiple parties can be held liable, it is known as joint and several liability. For instance, if a tire blows out causing an accident, it may be possible to hold the tire manufacturer responsible and the driver who failed to care for the tire properly. Additionally, a service shop that installed the tire may also be liable for the accident.
